So yeah...

Mon Jun 7, 2010, 12:31 PM

..while I am waiting for my new wacom pen to arrive (spending time sketching traditionally instead) I am working my ass off (literally) with P90X. That program rocks!
I hope I can get in time to do everything I need/want to do per day. Hmm...everyday work, household stuff, working out, cooking AND painting. Yup, somehow I'll need to squeeze a few more hours out of a day..how about..like..30?

Not to forget I really should make a proper php journal, but I just can't be arsed (pardon my french).

I hope everyone is doing fine out there in the hyper space :)

EDIT: Since so many of you are interested in P90X I wanted to post a little youtube video a friend I met through the program made for me. One of the Yoga stances that you learn is called "Crane". It's a pretty advanced pose and I am super proud that I can hold it for a few seconds. However Norm shows in the little video what you'll end up with you keep practising :)
Oh and btw, if you are doing P90X and need a Coach he is a great guy and very knowledgeable and helping wherever he can with tips and encouragement. You can look him up here: www.teambeachbodycoach.com/nammie or just put in his coach number (44127) when you sign up.

So, here is the little video though: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T0gTT…

  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Henning's computer making noises
  • Reading: Journal Dramas
  • Watching: Burn Notice
  • Playing: Angry Birds on I-Phone
  • Eating: Grilled Chicken and Veggies
  • Drinking: Water

Excellent to hear you are doing well and sketching a bit here and there. I was reading your posts with Keight and the hair industry is also one of those that is full of backstabbers and in fighting. I think you get that with just about any profession. I guess it is just human nature to be jealous and catty ( yes even the guys are catty ha ha) :hug

So, isn't Yoga supposed to be about finding balance, and zen, and generally being at ease and peace?
Why is it then that you want to cram more than you can fit in a day. you may be creating more stress than you need going, going, going all the time. The Merovingian(Matrix Reloaded&Revolution) said"If we never take time, how can we ever have time?" I think this is a great statement. Everyone is so super pumped about how they can exhaust themselves more than everyone else, like that is how success is measured. But before you know it you will be old and dying and realize you did a lot of meaningless stuff and really never took a moment to enjoy life.
 I may be way off base here, but I felt urged to share my thoughts :)

hmmm..I am not sure what your question is :)
Yoga has many forms. It is indeed about finding Zen but if you do it the first time you will be stiff, sore and lots of other things you didn't imagine. It's hard to explain. While Yoga looks very easy it is certainly not but once you get used to the poses you can focus on your breathing despite the fact that your body is working hard.

It's not about exhausting yourself with the crane - it's more about completely clear your mind and concentrating on what you are doing. That is in and itself very relaxing.
It's really hard to explain -.-

For example, doing those exercises are not meaningless to me at all. They help me improve my strength, my balance and my flexibility which in terms make everything else I do during the day much less straining and leaves me with much more energy by the end of the day. That again ends up with me having more time to do things I might not have had the energy to do before.

no no, you misunderstand. i mean I find it ironic that you are taking yoga(=Zen) and at the same time filling up your days to the maximum capacity(=Stress). I'm just saying that my advice for you(if you want it)is to slow down a little, enjoy the simple things...like yoga. Don't try and do too much or you will wear yourself out or worse yet, forget what you are trying to achieve in life because your so busy trying to get there that all the fun runs out. do I make sense? Trying to fit 30 hours in a day is no fun, and sometimes you need to just breath...in...out.. seek Joy
just want to encourage you to "stop and smell the roses, and maybe spend a day doing it instead of just a few seconds;)

If she is doing yoga then she is relaxing her mind and body. Give it a try, I think you will understand more how it relaxes you and energizes you at the same time...and yes it even lets you stop and smell the roses ;)

Miss you too Lauren :)
And I agree - it has been too long. It will probably get me a while to get back into using photoshop and the brushes again.

It is so nice to read that you seem to have become well enough to start drawing and everything! I hope you will improve more so that you will be able to take a less dose of the medications.

Going to be really exciting to see what new you have in store to share with us! :)

It doesn't help that the very first exercises in the program when you start are really tough (pull-up routines and then Plyometrics). I think it can discourage and maybe even scare some people away. It gets gradually easier though and it's really fun when you see slow increases in time :)

Awesome Kyena =) Keep at it. Keeping in shape counters a lot of things . What kind of Wacom did you get ? Or did you go for an Intuos tablet ? Looking forward to seeing future works from you in whatever format you choose =)
Be Well ! =)

I am only in my 7th week (well we were on vacation for a week and just came back so I am restarting week 7).
I noticed a steadily slight increase in my strength, performance and specially Yoga gets gradually easier. I really REALLY hated it the first time I did it..now I really am looking forward to the Yoga days.

It does kick ass if you really stick with it (including making sure you eat properly for your level). Like I said, it's more of a whole package/live healthy-typething then just a workout and if you want to see good results it's important to stay with it in all aspects. I also really like how very helpful the people over at their forums are.
