The new previews here look horrible - what happened :/
looks skewed and slightly pixelated at parts - only the full version is ok.

At least I know I'm not alone! They need to fix that asap! I usually have to right-click and view image to see the artwork now.

It's so ugly, isn't it? And the full views are only full if your resolution is big enough. Otherwise they get squashed in and compressed funny. Which is really fantastic if you're still on a 1024 px wide resolution and trying to read tutorials.

The original layout didn't even have a searchbar. You had to go to the main browsing page to get it. :| At least they finally fixed that.

You don't change a winning team - why the hell did they have to change this :(

In fact, I think it's just intended to reduce the data throughput in the servers. The images come to a better resolution after some time, but they're only downloaded under explicit demand. I find it a little tedious and slower than before, but understandable if they're trying to spend less money for the servers/ISPs.

In my opinion, that may be acceptable for free accounts. But is totally unacceptable for paid. The recent changes are one reason I haven't yet renewed my subscription.

Well I still think the right place to professionally showcasing artwork is through actual portfolios, not the dA galleries. These galleries are more focused to community while the portfolios are focused on the artist itself.

I don't like the new changes much either, but to some extent understand them.

Hmm I see...well maybe. Still it's not really in any artists interest to have their artwork be butchered (that's a bit of an overstatement I know :p)

It's probably a fair statement indeed XD

Pff, you don't even need a slower connection or older laptop. It freezes for me too and I have a really new computer and a very quick connection.

The new previews are terrible .-.

I like the update stacks for groups I'm part of, but clicking on an individual picture.... I HATE the new art viewing system. I really, really do.
